Israel Trip Update 4.23.15

Israel Trip Update - April 23

Journals:

On Tuesday, we climbed the famous Masada. Our group had to wake up at 4 in the morning to witness the astonishing view from the mountain; it was completely worth it. As we took on the hike we learned about the ancient battle against the Romans and its interesting history. We were able to view what we were learning about and that engaged us all the more. As we reached the top, we were surprised with one of the most beautiful views we have ever seen. The combination of the Dead Sea, the nearby mountains, and the sunrise created a panorama and memory to last a lifetime. After that we prayed emotionally with the rising sun in the horizon. Lastly we took a look at the surrounding areas and started our voyage down the long and windy snake path. This day, and especially that experience, is unique and one that we will treasure throughout our lives.

While painful, the Dead Sea was a very marvelous place. There we relaxed with our friends in the salty waters of the sea. It was a time to have fun with others. In fact, many put on  mineral mud and drifted out with their eyes closed. Others, not wanting to get dirty ,talked, played, and tanned in the water. After we had enough of the pain, we all bought products for our mothers so they won't get mad.
